It has been confirmed that Nilmar will miss Sunday’s match against São Paulo after failing to fully recover from a thigh injury. Club official Luciano Ramires confirmed that Nilmar, who also missed the midweek draw with Náutico, is still feeling pain in his right thigh and is not 100% fit to play this weekend.
The decision would have no doubt of been influenced with next Thursday match against Boca Juniors in mind. Guto, who replaced Nilmar against Náutico, is likely to remain in the team for Sunday’s match at the Morumbi.
The club’s medical departments have also been working with goalkeeper Lauro and midfielders, Magrão and Andrezinho as the Colorado prepare for Sunday.
Tite’s team selection for São Paulo has been much discussed following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw. With Inter now highly unlikely to qualify for the Libertadores, many supporters are suggesting that Inter should field a weekend team. A victory for Inter over Brasileirão challengers São Paulo would improve rivals Grêmio’s chances of winning the title.
It remains to be seen whether Inter rest players with next Thursday’s match with Boca in mind although several players including Andrezinho and Alex have reacted angrily to rumours that they would not give 100% against São Paulo.

Special news announcement!
I have some pretty exciting news which I am very pleased to share with you all today. Starting from next Tuesday (terça-feira), I will be writing a weekly piece on Inter’s ‘Blog do Torcedor’ which appears on the Globo Esportes website.
Accomplished blog writer Mateus Reck who produces the popular Internacional blog, wrote about my support for Inter and this site on his blog a few weeks back so I am delighted to now be able to write my own regular piece on his well established blog.
The most exciting thing about this news is that for the first time I will be able to communicate directly with Colorado’s in Portuguese! Each week my comments will be translated from English into the first language of the Gaúcho people.
I would like to thank Mateus for this opportunity and you can read his blog here.
The Inter UK blog will continue as normal and I hope to make another exciting announcement regarding this site in the next few weeks.

Goal scoring Ângelo hopes for contract renewal
After being given an extended run in the Inter side and scoring in Wednesday’s draw with Náutico, Ângelo has again spoken of his desire to renew his contract with Internacional.
“I am very happy and my desire is to remain at Internacional next year. I have a very good identification with the supporters and the club and I will strive to remain here in 2009. Despite the difficulties I had upon on my arrival, I never became discouraged or stopped fighting to take my chance in the team”, explained the right back.
Paulo Affonso Neves who represents the player also confirmed of his desire to remain in Porto Alegre. Ângelo also has Italian citizenship, so it is normal to receive some enquires from overseas clubs. But, he’s become very happy at Inter, and his priority is to continue with the club next season”, declared the attorney.
Ângelo is currently on loan to Inter from Paraná based club, ADAP Galo until the end of the year with Inter having an option to purchase his federal rights. As with many Brazilian players, Ângelo’s registration ownership is complex. His federal rights are owned half by his club, ADAP and half by the player himself.
Since Ângelo has returned to the side, Inter are yet to lose having defeated Boca, Atlético-PR and drawing with Atlético-MG and Náutico.
Do you think Inter should renew Ângelo's contract? What do you think of the player? As always, please feel free to share your views and comments!

32ª Rodada Round up
The three final games of the 32ª Rodada took place last night but remarkably, only two were completed. In Florianópolis, relegation threatened Fluminense visited Figueirense but the game was forced to be abandoned after 15 mintutes after floodlight failure at the Estádio Orlando Scarpelli. With Fluminense leading the game until darkness struck, the match will now be continued next Wednesday.
In the evenings relegation six pointer, two of the championship’s bottom four met at the São Januário as Vasco played Atlético-PR. Despite Vasco taking the lead, Atlético levelled shortly before halftime and took a second half lead when Oldoni scored. To the delight of the home crowd however, Madson equalised on 89 mins to earn Vasco a point.
Finally in Recife, Pereira’s first half strike for Santos ensured a point for Peixe (The Fish), ruling out Fumagalli’s penalty for Sport which had given the home side the lead.

Fernando Carvalho outlines plans for 2009
Fernando Carvalho has declaired that he has already began the planning process for next season. With the club’s presidential elections to being shortly, Carvalho will wait until the elections are decided before making any definite decision.
“We have our candidate, Piffero, but we respect the sitatiion and we will have to wait. We have been planning if another person assumes presidency then they will become involved in the planning.
Vitório Piffero will run alongside Philip de Oliveira of the Interaction movement and Inter 2000 candidate Claude Bier for the club’s presidency ahead of Inter’s centenary year.
Fernando Carvalho also suggested that the high number of changes to the squad this year, hindered the club’s Brasileirão chances, “We had to change coach at the beginning of the championship, we struggled physically and we had to change the method of how we work whilst we were already a significant way through the season. Everything was affected.”
One positive which Carvalho had definitely felt had shorn through this season was the arrival in the squad of young midfielder Sandro who has become the latest young player to come through the club’s youth ranks. “Sandro is a player who we’re sure will be good for us. He was enrolled in the Copa Sudamericana squad and Tite will certainly be looking to give him more chance between now and the end of the year. He will be one of the stars for Inter next year”, predicted Carvalho.

Giovanni Luigi confirms Adriano issues
Vice president Giovanni Luigi has confirmed that Adriano will train separately from the rest of the squad until the end of the year.
Speculation regarding the striker’s future at the club had grown in recent days. Having been ignored for selection ahead of yesterdays draw with Náutico despite Tite missing two forwards, local journalist Ricardo Vidarte also reported that the player was no longer in favour at the club.
Inter are now expected to re-negotiate Adriano’s contact with the club, which still has three years left to run. Speaking to Zero Hora, Luigi confirmed that concerns regarding the player’s behaviour off the field had led to the decision. “There was an agreement with the club and he has not fulfilled it”, commentated Luigi.
In addition to failing to secure a first team place this year, making just two starting appearances, rumours about Adriano’s behaviour off the field have been rife amongst supporters. In this latest incident, Adriano is alleged to have been seen out in a nightclub in the city the day after his sides 2-2 draw with Atlético-MG.
It is expected Inter will look to offload Adriano either on loan or a permanent deal in the near future.

Feature: Tite walks a Colorado tightrope
After seeing Inter’s Libertadores hopes end dramatically following a late equalising goal from Náutico last night, Inter supporters began to lose patience with Tite.Backing for Tite amongst Inter’s fans appears to be mixed. Some fans believe that Tite is still moulding a quality squad and that he should be given more time whilst others strongly disagree.
Many supporters have become disillusioned and frustrated with the coach, citing cautious decision making as a fundamental reason as to why the talented squad have underachieved. Last nights game was a game was dominated by Inter for long periods against an unadventurous Náutico side. Despite being on top, fans complain that Tite refused to dare and make more attacking changes to the side. Tite did make three changes but each was a like-for-like replacement. Taison replaced the injured Andrezinho whilst forwards Daniel Carvalho and Guto were substituted for fellow strikers Luiz Carlos and Walter.
Many Colorado’s want a more courageous coach, they argue that Tite adopted a similar mentality in the recent draws with Goiás and Atlético-MG, happy to obtain a draw and not lose the game, rather than seek victory.
With Inter’s Brasileirão campaign now over, Inter can afford to completely focus on next weeks return leg against Boca Juniors. Having taken a two goal advantage at the Beira-Rio, anything better than a three goal defeat would take Inter through to the semi-finals against either River Plate or Chivas Guadalajara. The Copa Sudamericana could prove to be a blessing in disguise for Tite. If Inter can become the first Brazilian club to obtain the title, it would go a long way in covering the cracks over what has otherwise been a year of underachievement.
Noises coming from clubs hierarchy suggest that Tite’s position at the club is secure and he will remain at Inter for 2009. However, with the squad having underachieved in the Campeonato Brasileirão this year, any indication of a repeat during the clubs centenary will surely see Tite’s time at the Beira-Rio numbered.
Whats your opinion of Tite? Do you think he will be at the club for 2009? Who would replace him? Let me know your comments and opinions!
32ª Rodada latest
With all but three of the rounds matches being played last night, both the title race and relegation battle took another step closer to being decided.
Despite their late, late leveller at the Beira-Rio last night, Náutico still drop down one spot and find themselves in the relegation zone. Inter also fall one place and are now 8th and are now unable to finish in the top four. To lighten the mood of the red half of Porto Alegre, Cruzeiro burst the championship wide open after smashing leaders Grêmio 3-0. The victory for Cruzeiro means just three points separate the top five sides with six rounds remaining. São Paulo remain in second, a point behind Grêmio after they defeated Botafogo. Hernanes scored his second goal in as many games at the Engenhão to give the Tricolor Paulista the points. Flamengo meanwhile fall one place into 5th but still find themselves very much in the title race after picking up a point in their goalless draw against Vitória in Northern Brazil. Replacing Fla in fourth spot are Palmeiras. Alex Mineiro’s first half penalty, his 18th in the Brasileirão was in the only goal in the game as Palmeiras ran out 1-0 winners against Goiás.
At the other end of the Campeonato Brasileiro, two of the bottom four met as Portuguesa met Ipatinga. In a relegation six pointer, a goal in each half from Gabriel gave Portuguesa a much needed win as Ipatinga, bottom of the championship, stare Série B in the face. In the evening’s final match, Coritiba came from a goal down to defeat Atletico-MG 2-1. The Paraná based club now climb into seventh place.

Náutico put Colorado Libertadores dream to rest
Inter’s hopes of competing in the 2009 Copa Libertadores are finally over. In a must win game for the Colorado, Inter could only mange a one all draw at the Beira Rio as relegation battling Náutico scored a last minute equaliser, extinguishing any remaining hopes of marking next year's centenary with a place in South America's premier club competition.
In a side minus key forwards Alex and Nilmar, Tite selected a frontline pairing of Daniel Carvalho and Guto. The Beira-Rio also welcomed the return of Guiñazu to the starting line up as the popular Argentine returned from injury. It was in fact Guiñazu or ‘el loco’ as he commonly known, who had Inter’s first opportunity of the match, hitting his effort over the bar. On fifth teen minutes, Ângelo came close to scoring the opening goal. The rightback struck a free kick from the edge of the Náutico area only for ‘keeper Eduardo to beat the ball away to watch as his defence block Guto’s shot on the rebound before scrambling the ball out for a corner. On the half hour mark, Ângelo then worked another chance for Inter. Winning the ball deep inside the Inter half, the number two surged forward unchallenged into the Náutico half. Playing a one-two with D’Alessandro, Ângelo received the ball but struck the ball wide of the post. With Náutico appearing to be quite happy to take a point from the game the visitors would of been pleased to finish the first half goalless.
Inter showed their attacking intentions almost immediately after the break. D’Alessandro’s corner eventually found Marcão who headed against the crossbar from six yards out. D’Alessandro sent a long range freekick dipping over the crossbar to the relief of Eduardo in goal. D’Alessandro found himself constantly relied on as Inter’s creative force with both Alex and Nilmar missing. Moments later, Náutico on a rare attack temporarily broke the dead lock with the Náutico forward turning and shooting into the bottom corner of the goal past Lauro. To the disappointed of the Pernambuco based side, the referee ruled out the goal for a foul during the build up. Inter immediately retaliated at the other end of the field with D’Alessandro and Guto linking up as the young striker headed the Argentine’s cross over the bar. In the knowledge that only three points would be enough, Tite encouraged Inter’s attacking intentions by bringing on pacey attacking midfielder Taison. Taison soon found himself involved as he figured in the built up of the Colorado’s best chance of the game so far which led to Daniel Carvalho’s shot being wickedly deflected beating the Náutico ‘keeper, only to come back off the crossbar. Inter continued the attacking siege with Índio this time coming close as the central defender saw his poorly struck shot from just yards out saved by a relieved Eduardo.
Midway through the half, Lauro was given another rare test from the Náutico attack as he saved from the feet of the striker which Ângelo then cleared. Internacional then continued to dominate possession and late in the game, finally found the break through as their persistence finally paid off. Good build up play from Inter down the left hand side resulted in substitute Luiz Carlos flicking the ball on for Ângelo (84) to arrive late into the box, striking the ball into the net to the delight of the Colorado’s in the stands. With Inter expecting to run down the clock in the final few minutes, Náutico earned a late corner with just thirty seconds remaining in stockage time. With even, goalkeeper Eduardo going up the ball somehow bobbled through to a full back Vágner Silva (90+2) whose deflected shot beat Lauro to give the visitors a late, underserved and unexpected equaliser.
The late, late equaliser marked the end of Inter's ambition of a top four finish, leaving the Copa Sudamericana a priority as the season draws to a close.

Adriano faces uncertain Inter future
Questions are being raised regarding the future of Adriano whose future at Inter has been called into doubt. Speculation from the club and local media suggests that the striker is no longer wanted at the club.Yesterday, Tite surprisingly revealed that young striker Guto would be preferred to Adriano in the absence of leading scorer Nilmar ahead of this evenings match with Náutico. In addition to this, local journalist Ricardo Vidarte reported on his blog earlier this afternoon that Adriano has been moved away from the first team squad as coach Tite wishes to focus on recently signed Luiz Carlos and youngster Guto and Walter as the squads back up strikers to Nilmar.
Inter are refusing to comment on any possible arrivals or departures as the season draws to a close although it now looks increasingly likely that Adriano will leave the club at the end of the year.
Adriano, 26, has made nineteen appearances this year, scoring twice, although he has only started in two of those. His most recent appearance was Inter’s defeat to Coritiba earlier this month.

Inter v Náutico
In the first of three matches over the next eight days Inter’s preparations for tonight’s game were dealt a huge blow when it was announced late yesterday that Nilmar would be absent after failing to recover from injury. In addition, Inter’s most inform player Alex also misses out as he serves a one match suspension whilst midfielder Magrão and full back’s Ricardo Lopes and Gustavo Nery are all ruled out through injury.
Tite does however approach the game with some positive news. Guiñazu returns to the side after missing Inter’s last five games with an elbow injury whilst defender Índio is also available again.
Lauro will once again play in goal behind a four man defence of Ângelo, Índio, Bolívar and Marcão, who continues in the absence of Gustavo Nery. Guiñazu starts at left midfield as Edinho and Andrezinho continue in the centre. D’Alessandro also returns to the side on the right, behind an experimental forward line of Daniel Carvalho and Guto.
With his preferred striking partnership of Alex and Nilmar missing, Tite will rely on Daniel Carvalho and the surprise inclusion of highly rated youth prospect Guto over the more experienced Adriano. Whilst Daniel Carvalho has so far failed to regularly feature in Tite’s preferred line up since rejoining Inter on loan until the end of the year, Guto meanwhile will be looking to make the most of his opportunity.
The 19 year old striker has made five appearances for the Colorado this year and will make what is only his third start for the club, last featuring for Inter in their 1-0 victory against Portuguesa in September.
Náutico are also desperate for points as the 2008 Brasileirão slowly draws to a close. Roberto Fernandes’ side currently occupy 16th place and sit above the relegation zone on goal difference. With the bottom four clubs all playing each other over the next two nights, Náutico could easily find themselves in the relegation zone at the end of the round. Having taken just three points from their last five matches (DLLDD), early indications suggest that time is running for the Pernambuco state based club. They will however take heart that they have not lost either of their last two matches, with a 1-1 draw in their last match, at home to fellow relegation candidates Portuguesa.
Náutico also have two players on loan from Inter, full back Titi and midfielder Derley who are both illegible to play.
Probable Line up: Lauro, Ângelo, Índio, Bolívar, Marcão, Edinho, Andrezinho, Guiñazu, D’Alessandro, Daniel Carvalho, Guto
Náutico president rues financial restraints
Náutico president Maurício Cardoso revealed the difficulties his club face in competing with the Brasileirão’s top club in an interview with Bandeirantes radio.
Cardoso’s side who are currently fighting for survival in the Campeonato Brasileiro explained. “This is a game of great difficult for Náutico. We are facing one of the great forces in the national game and need at least a draw in the Beira-Rio. People asked me at the beginning of the championship who I thought would be the champion. I said that Inter was one of the contenders because of its squad. To give you an idea, my budget for the whole year is what Internacional pays out in a month."

Nilmar ruled out of Náutico game
Nilmar has become the latest player to be ruled out of tonight’s game with Náutico after the striker failed to recover from a thigh injury. With Alex also unavailable through suspension, Inter will now line up against Náutico with both of their first choice forwards unavailable. Daniel Carvalho is expected to start and will partner young striker Guto up front in a makeshift front line.
Guto’s selection in the side comes as a surprise with Adriano being thought to be more likely option as Nilmar’s replacement. “Guto will probably be his replacement”, commented Tite when asked.
Nilmar had not been considered a serious doubt for tonight and his absence could well be precautionary ahead of key games with São Paulo and Boca Juniors.
Nilmar joins Alex, Magrão, Gustavo Nery, Ricardo Lopes and Sorondo who are all unavailable.

32ª Rodada Preview
In what is turning out to be one of the closest finishes to the Campeonato Brasileiro since the league controversially changed to a European style league format, there are decisive matches for teams at both ends of the table with a full midweek schedule being played across Wednesday and Thursday.
Inter face a ‘must-win’ scenario at the Beira-Rio when they take on struggling Náutico. Anything less than three points would mathematically rule out any possibility of a Copa Libertadores place. Meanwhile in the game of the round, leaders Grêmio take on third placed Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte. Three points for Cruzeiro would yet again burst the title race wide open where a defeat for La Raposa (The Fox) would seriously dent their title ambitions.
At the Parque Antarctica, Palmeiras can climb up as high as second if they defeat Goiás who have little to play for. Coritiba, another side in mid table obscurity, welcome Atlético-MG to the Estádio Couto Pereira. A win for either side would boost their chances of securing a Copa Sudamericana spot for 2009.
Sixth placed Botafogo who still have an outside chance of securing a Libertadores spot, play São Paulo who can top the Brasileirão for the first time if they win. In Salvador, fourth placed Flamengo also share title ambitions as they visit tenth placed Vitória.
At the wrong end of the table, the bottom four all play each other. Firstly in São Paulo, Portuguesa play Ipatinga. A win for either side would be crucial in their fight against the drop. On Thursday evening, the bottom four’s other two clubs meet in Rio as Vasco face Atlético-PR. Three points would probably be enough to take either team out of the relegation soon although Vasco could finish the round bottom of the table if Ipatinga win at Portuguesa.
In Santa Catarina, Fluminense visit Figueirense with both teams sitting uncomfortably above the relegation zone. Fluminense’s impressive 3-0 victory over Palmeiras last weekend served as a reminder as to what they can achieve but the Tricolor Carioca have failed to find any consistency all season. In the round’s final match up, Sport play Santos at the Ilha do Retiro with both sides hoping to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana.

Roberto Fernandes- “Inter one of the best four teams”
Náutico coach Roberto Fernandes has spoken to the press today, heavily praising Inter ahead of Wednesday’s match at the Beira-Rio.“The championship is full of highs and lows, but we go to Porto Alegre to face Internacional, knowing that the game is crucial and that we are playing against one of the best four teams in the league. We will go and try and get the points. It is also an important game for Inter, because they know they need to win to qualify for the Libertadores”, declared Roberto Fernandes.
The Pernambuco based club will have one final session in Porto Alegre later before tomorrow’s game.

Philip de Oliveira confirmed as Inter presidential candidate
Porto Alegre newspaper Zero Hora reports this morning that Philip de Oliveira has been confirmed as a candidate for the club’s presidential elections. Oliveira will face current president Vitório Piffero when voting begins in just under two weeks time on Monday 10th November.
Philip de Oliveira is supported by the ‘Interaction’ group and later this week another group, ‘Inter 2000’ will announce it’s representative.
More about the club’s presidential elections will follow over the next few days and weeks.
Gustavo Nery and Magrão doubtful for Náutico as Guiña and Índio expect to return
Already without Alex for tomorrow’s must-win match with Náutico, Tite is now likely to be without fellow midfielder Magrão and full back Gustavo Nery whilst Pablo Guiñazu and Índio are expected to return to the side.Magrão is unlikely to play after complaining of a muscular problem with his thigh whilst Gustavo Nery is expected to ruled out for a second match following further examination, also on a thigh injury yesterday.
Club doctor Pablo Rabello confirmed this latest setback late, “Gustavo is having physiotherapy and still feels muscular pains. Magrão also struggled through his medical examination. The participation of these two players on Wednesday is unlikely”.
In what has been a busy few days for the club’s medical department, Dr Rabello did however confirm that Guiñazu has fully recovered from his shoulder which he picked up against Universidad Católica as will defender Indio who is expected to return to the side. Pablo Rabello also revealed that Nilmar has also been receiving treatment but isn’t considered to be a doubt for tomorrow.

Feature: Is Internacional's 2008 Brasileirão campaign finally over?
With seven matches remaining of the 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro, Internacional’s chances of marking next year’s centenary with a place in the Copa Libertadores seem unlikely.
The Colorado remain eight points from fourth placed Flamengo. Despite having assembled a talented squad and suffering just one defeat at the Beira Rio, Inter’s away record has been dismal. Having won just twice away from the Beira-Rio, Tite’s squad have accumulated 11 from a possible 48 points whilst on the road this year.
Following the 2-2 draw against Atlético in Minas Gerais on Saturday, Inter need to win all of their remaining Brasileirão matches, taking the maximum 21 points to fulfil the club’s ambition of playing in the 2009 Copa Libertadores.
Náutico Venue: Beira-Rio Current position: 16th
Previous match: Inter drew 1-1
The Pernambuco based club are currently out of the relegation zone on goal difference. Náutico face a struggle to remain in the Brasileirão.
São Paulo Venue:Morumbi Current position: 2nd
Previous match: Inter won 2-0
Inter defeated São Paulo at the Beira-Rio earlier in the season in what was one the sides best performances all year. São Paulo have since climbed up the table and are now serious contenders for the 2009 Brasileirão title.
Ipatinga Venue: Beira-Rio Current position: 20th
Previous match: Inter lost 1-0
Having remained in the relegation zone all year, Ipatinga are expected to be playing in Série B next year. Ipatinga have won just seven matches in the Campeonato Brasilero – one of which against Inter.
Santos Venue: Vila Belmiro Current position: 12th
Previous match: Inter lost 1-0
Having struggled for much of the season, Santos have now pulled away from the relegation zone and will be keen to secure a midtable spot.
Fluminense Venue: Beira-Rio Current position: 14th
Previous match: Inter won 2-1
Flu failed to recover from their heartbreaking defeat on penalties in the Copa Libertadores final against LDU earlier this year. An impressive 3-0 victory against Palmeiras last weekend suggests that the Rio based club may of finally turned the corner as they look to fight off relegation.
Cruzeiro Venue: Beira-Rio Current position: 3rd
Previous match: Inter lost 2-0
La Raposa (The Foxes) have remained in the top three all year and despite losing ten matches remain contenders for the title. Cruzeiro defeated Inter with ease earlier this year.
Figueirense Venue: Orlando Scarpelli Current position 15th
Previousmatch: Inter drew 1-1
Figueirense are just two points off the relegation zone and despite their lowly league position have lost just five matches at home.

Inter begin preparations for Náutico
The Colorado resume training later today as Tite prepares his side for Wednesday nights match against Náutico without Alex.Inter’s dynamic attacking midfielder picked up a third yellow card during Saturday’s draw with Atlético-MG and will faces a one match suspension. Daniel Carvalho appears to be a likely option to replace Alex although pacey youngster Taison, who started against Atlético could also feature. Inter’s third option is Adriano who appears to be Tite second choice forward, ahead of youngsters Guto and Walter.
Meanwhile, defensive pair Índio and Gustavo Nery who missed the trip to Belo Horizonte will have their respective injuries assessed by the club’s medical staff today where it is hoped the duo be available for Wednesday.
One player who is almost certain to return from injury is influential midfielder Pablo Guiñazu. Guiña has undertaken physiotherapy for his elbow injury and has trained wearing a protective cast. Tite will be hoping that the Argentine can regain his fitness during Inter’s forthcoming matches against Náutico and São Paulo ahead of next weeks Copa Sudamericana decider against Boca Juniors.

Alex and Sandro earn Inter point at the Mineirão
A second half penalty from inform Alex and a first Colorado goal for Sandro, earned Inter a point last night in Belo Horizonte in a 2-2 draw with Atlético-MG. Despite the match being Inter’s fourth consecutive game without defeat, the draw does little to improve Inter’s Copa Libertadores places with the Inter now needing to win all of their seven remaining Brasileirão fixtures.

Atlético-MG v Inter
Belo Horizonte’s Mineirão hosts Inter’s match with Atlético-MG later today(18:20 local time) where Inter must remain undefeated as they fight to keep their Libertadores hopes alive.Tite’s squad arrive in Minas Gerais high on confidence following an impressive victory over Boca Juniors. Despite this Inter are without three first choice defenders as Ricardo Lopes, Índio and Gustavo Nery all remain in Porto Alegre to receive treatment. Angelo and Marcão are expected to play as full backs whilst Tite must chose either fit again Álvaro, or Danny Morais with the latter expect to start. In midfield, Inter are set to name an unchanged midfield with Magrão, Edinho and Andrezinho lining up just behind D’Alessandro.
With Atlético showing mixed form in recent games, Inter will approach the game fully believing that they can obtain maximum points. Alex, whose fine performance led to Wednesday’s victory over Boca will remain crucial as he partners Nilmar up front.
Atlético’s main threat appears to be young midfielder Renan Oliveira who has rose to prominence this season in a side that is currently 12th in the Campeonato Brasilero. Last weekend Atletico lost 2-0 to arch rivals Cruzeiro. Despite the set back, Atletico did defeat in-form Flamengo 3-0 in the previous round in front of 80,000 at the Marcana.
The big question ahead of this game is can Inter’s perform again after Wednesday nights impressive display with their patched up defence.
Probable Line Up: Lauro, Angelo, Danny Morais, Bolívar, Marcão, Magrão, Edinho, Andrezinho, D’Alessandro, Alex, Nilmar
Tite drops Danny Morais hint
Tite has given a big hint that Danny Morais will replace Índio at the heart of Inter’s defence tomorrow evening. With the club due to train later today ahead of the game, Tite spoke to the press regarding his defensive options. “I have problems with Índio and Gustavo Nery. Álvaro has shown great character and has asked to be involved and wanted to travel with the team. He said that he wanted to be with the squad. But already Danny has done well and was also on the bench last Wednesday. Álvaro is already showing good form, as well as Danny but the important thing is for the squad to focus.”

Inter face defensive crisis ahead of Atlético-MG
The Inter squad departed for Belo Horizonte late yesterday afternoon without three key defenders as injuries yet again take their told on Tite’s squad.
Full backs Ricardo Lopes and Gustavo Nery are now joined by central defender Índio on the Colorado injury list ahead of Saturday’s match against Atlético-MG.
Índio who was had been a doubt ahead of Wednesday nights game with Boca explained, “I have had pain in my leg for some time and the examination pointed out a problem. I need to rest.”
Indio is expected to be replaced by Danny Morais who will partner Bolívar in central defence whilst Marcão is likely to continue instead of Gustavo Nery after playing the second half against Boca.
Completing the defence is Ângelo who will continue at right back instead of Ricardo Lopes. Out of favour right back, Bustos also travelled with the squad to Belo Horizonte where he is expected to provide cover whilst Walter, Guto and Maycon could also feature amongst the substitutes after making the journey to Minas Gerias.

31ª Rodada latest
Last night’s three games saw no surprises as the favourites all won. Grêmio temporarily extend their lead at the top of the Brasileirão to three points after defeating Sport in Porto Alegre. Reinaldo’s first minute strike being the only goal between the two teams. São Paulo also took advantage of playing before the rest of the top four as they moved into second spot following a 2-1 victory against Vitória . The visitor’s almost caused an upset at the Estádio Morumbi by taking the lead through Silva but Hernanes levelled shortly before Hugo’s second half goal secured the points for the Tricolor Paulista. Flamengo also climb up and are now occupy fourth spot. Fla steamrolled Coritiba 5-0 at the Maracanã in an impressive performance.

With Inter travelling later today to Minas Gerais for Saturday’s match with Atlético-MG, it remains unclear whether Gustavo Nery who was replaced by Marcão last night, will be available.Meanwhile, midfielder Magrão who also received a knock will also be seen by the club’s medical staff but he is likely to be available for Saturday.
Inter depart Porto Alegre later this afternoon at (17:00 local time) where they will arrive in Belo Horizonte before training tomorrow afternoon.

Boca coach admits concerns over Inter defeat
Boca coach Carlos Ischia has revealed that his side face a difficult task in reverting the 2-0 score line which was inflicted upon them by Inter last night, reports Argentine newspaper Ole.
“They are a very complicated team, but I believe that we can close the space well and limit their ability to create goal scoring opportunities. They have obtained an advantage with two great goals from Alex. It is going to be difficult to revert this situation”, Ischia revealed.
With Boca fielding practically a reserve side at the Beira-Rio last night it remains to be seen if Ischia will select a stronger side for the return leg at La Bombonera in two weeks time. Ischia refused to speculate on any selection plans, preferring only to comment on Boca’s next three games which are in the Argentine Apertura championship.

Tite praises Alex
Tite praised his Inter side following last nights 2-0 victory as he explained to media following the game.
“Inter were equal defensive and offensive. In the second half, we used the ball better and created space so the attackers were able to create our chances,” the coach explained. “Our advantage is now considerabe. Our first objective is not to concede goals and then try to score, we’ve already done this,” Tite added.
Tite also praised Alex who had scored both of the goals. “Alex is great at the moment. The team is playing well but some players thrive depending on the characteristics of the opposition. Boca played five defensive players in the same way as they did against LDU. That allowed Alex to shot from outside the box.”

Super Alex high on confidence
Inter’s man of the moment Alex, spoke to the media after his inspirational performance against Boca Juniors last night.“Confidence is allowing me to score goals. We had good chances and today we were awarded after dominating from the beginning of the game. This year god is given me wonderful form”, explained Alex.
“It is a great advantage if we can play well there. The pressure will be great but we have to take care not to concede the first goal because the result is not confirmed” he added.

Superb Alex inspires Inter to famous victory
Internacional now have one foot in the Copa Sudamericana semi finals after Alex scored two superb trademark long distance strikes to gave Inter a 2-0 advantage in what was a comfortable win. Inter’s team for the game contained no surprises as Índio and Magrão started despite concerns at the start of the week, whilst Tite selected Andrezinho over Sandro in centre midfield. Boca meanwhile were without several first team regulars as they fielded a reserve side.
The visitors started the match brightly with two long range efforts but both failed to threaten Lauro in the Inter goal. Alex then gave a signal of his intent for the evening with his first effort of the night. Picking up the ball inside the Boca half, Alex ran towards goal where he shot from outside the box and sent Boca ‘keeper Javier Garcia scrambling to keep hold of the ball as Nilmar charged into the six yard box for the rebound. Inter’s next goal scoring opportunity fell to former River Plate youth product, D’Alessandro. The Argentine playmaker sent a right sided 25 yard free kick directly into the top right hand corner which again saw Boca’s Garcia at full stretch to tip the push the ball wide. With Inter in complete control, Alex again threatened from distance, forcing Garcia into action once again from 25 yards out. Magrão collected the rebound and crossed into the box for Gustavo Nery to have his headed saved by Garcia in what was turning out to be a busy night for the Argentine goalkeeper. Despite a comfortable first half, Inter went into the break goalless.
The Beira-Rio would not have to wait long for Inter’s first goal in the second half. Picking the ball up from D’Alessandro, Alex (50) ran at goal before drilling a powerful shot past Garcia and into the bottom right corner from 25 yards out to give Inter the lead. Moments late, D’Alessandro almost doubled Inter’s advantage as he saw his cross clip the bar as it was headed over by a Boca defender. With Inter dominating, Boca’s frustrations became evident when Noir was given a straight red for his late challenge on Magrão on 78 minutes. Finally with the game coming to a close, Inter finally doubled their lead with Alex (89) scoring another remarkable goal. Again, Alex was allowed to run with the ball and he struck another 25 yard rocket into the net as the Beira-Rio erupted to cap of a magnificent performance by the Inter number ten as he celebrated his recent inclusion into the Brazil squad. The Colorado now have an excellent chance to progess into the semi finals if they can produce a similar performance in Buenos Aires on 6th November where they will face River Plate or Mexican side Chivas in the semi-finals. Chivas won thier first leg tie in Argentina against River 2-1.

Inter v Boca Juniors
The Beira-Rio tonight hosts the first leg of Inter’s quarter final draw with Argentine giants Boca Juniors (22:00 local time). Over 40,000 are expected to attend the game which will be screened live across 70 countries in what is one of the Colorado’s biggest games of the season. With Inter’s Brasileirão campaign seemingly over, the Copa Sudamericana remains the only chance that Tite’s underachieving side have of obtaining silverware in 2009, other than the Campeonato Gaúcho title they won earlier this year.Inter’s preparations ahead of this evenings game have been hindered by Ricardo Lopes unavailability. Inter’s first choice right back misses out along with midfielder Pablo Guiñazu, who despite some rumours yesterday, has failed to recover from an elbow injury. Ângelo will replace Ricardo Lopes and continue at right back in a back four which also features centre back Índio who was a minor injury doubt. Behind the Inter defence will be goalkeeper Lauro who will make his third appearance for the club after dislodging Clemer from the line up.
Inter’s midfield meanwhile could prove key tonight. Edinho, Magrão and Guiñazu are generally Tite’s first choice midfield but in the absence of Guiñazu, Tite will chose between either Andrezinho or, the more defensive but vastly inexperienced Sandro. Argentine Andrés D’Alessandro feature on the right.
‘El cabezón’ as D’Alessandro is known has featured heavily in the media in the build up towards the game. As a former River Plate player, the Inter playmaker is keen to perform against his former rivals. “I am here with Inter and I will defend this shirt until the death so that the supporters are happy. I always want to beat Boca”, he claimed. Having faced Boca four times during his time at River Plate, D’Alessandro was involved in two draws, a victory and a defeat. Tonight he will be Inter’s main creative thread and will be expected to provide chances for Inter’s inform attacking pairing of Alex and Nilmar.
Boca are no strangers to Gaúcho opposition and have an impressive record against both Inter and Grêmio. Boca have eliminated Inter from the Copa Sudamericana in both 2004 and 2005 having comfortably beaten Inter at their La Bombonera home but at the Estádio Beira-Rio, Inter remain unbeaten against the Buenos Aires based club. Boca also defeated Grêmio in 2007’s Copa Libertadores.
Despite having a feared reputation amongst Brazilian clubs, Carlos Ischia’s team arrive in Porto Alegre without several first team regulars. Star player, Riquelme is among Boca’s list of absentee’s as are Ibarra, Battaglia, Palermo, Palacio. Neri Cardoso who played against Inter in 2004 and 2005 is expected to start as is recent signing Lucho Figueroa who replaces ex-Inter player, Fabián Vargas. Despite having mixed results in the Argentine Apertura Championship, Boca defeat rivals River 1-0 last Sunday.
Expected Line Up: Lauro, Ângelo, Índio, Bolívar, Gustavo Nery, Edinho, Andrezinho (Sandro), Magrão, D’Alessandro, Alex, Nilmar

Ex-River star D’Alessandro ready for Boca test
As a youth product of Boca’s eternal rivals River Plate, Andres D’Alessandro is more than aware of the size of the task facing Inter when they take on Boca Juniors for a place in the Copa Sudamericana semi-final.With key players Riquelme, Palacio and Palermo all unavailable for Wendesday’s first leg match, D’Alessandro still fully expects Boca to be a threat.
“Regardless who players, if it’s the first team or reserves it will be difficult. Boca does not have a ‘B’ team. They still have important players. The likes of Gracián, Chavez and Alvaro González.”, explained D’Alessandro. “I know how they play, I’ve faced some of them and have spent time with them in the Argentine national squad. But in football, there are 11 against 11 and a ball. I have the rivalry that I aqquried when at River Plate but today, I am here at Inter and will defend this shirt to death so that the fan’s can be happy.
Inter’s number 15 was then asked if he felt this was the biggest game he’d played in since joining the club. “No, the most important game was the Gre-Nal. Playing Boca is special but it’s just a match”, he revealed.

Ricardo Lopes ruled out for Wednesday
Inter’s official site has confirmed that right back Ricardo Lopes will not be available to face Boca Juniors tomorrow night. Ricardo Lopes was expected to return to the side after receiving a red card against Goiás two weeks ago however he suffered an ankle injury in training on Sunday morning.
Ângelo who has been out of favour in recent weeks is set to continue at right back following Ricardo Lopes absence.
Despite not being a regular in the Inter’s team, Ângelo has experienced big games at the Beira Rio previously having playing in the 4-1 Gre-Nal victory.
“I’m glad to have participated in the last two games where we have achieved important results. I have trained well enough to earn an opportunity and will continue my commitment to earn a place in the line up. Thanks to Tite for trusting in me. Besides having reinstated me to the team, he is believing in me”, commented Ângelo.

Tite tem problemas para enfrentar o Boca / Tite has problems to deal with Boca
Zero Hora today reports that Tite has three main concerns ahead of Wednesday’s match at the Beira-Rio.Ricardo Lopes, Índio and Magrão are the main doubts for coach Tite to face Boca on Wednesday night (22:05 local time). By coincidence, the first two were injured after challenging for a ball with Marcão. Magrão who is still recovering from injury could return this afternoon.
Ricardo Lopes however is the least concern. In training yesterday the right back participated normally but could face a fight for a place in the team from Ângelo who played well in Saturdays 2-1 victory over Atlético-PR. If Índio does not play then Danny Morais is expected to continue in central defence whilst Ramon could again continue in the side in the absence of Magrão.
Meanwhile Inter’s assistant coach, Cléber Xavier revealed that as from tomorrow, the club will hold closed training sessions as they prepare for Boca.
Lauro registered for Boca
Inter’s newly selected first choice goalkeeper Lauro has been registered to play against Boca Juniors on Wednesday evening.Inter had originally submitted their squad before Lauro had signed and had included Clemer, Ricardo and Agenor as the three goalkeepers. Since the emergence of Lauro as first choice ‘keeper, the club have moved quickly to register the player with CONMEBOL ahead of the two legged quarter final.
Lauro who was a part of the Cruzeiro squad which played Boca twice in the Copa Libertadores earlier this spoke to Radio Gaucho and mentioned D’Alessandro as a key threat to Boca. “He is excited to face Boca Juniors. He said that he is really motivated to face the rival of River Plate, his former team in Argentina”, explained the goalkeeper.

10 man Boca defeat River
In the Buenos Aires Super clássico, Boca Juniors defeated River Plate 1-0 at the Estádio Monumental. Young Lucas Viatri scored the only goal of the game, heading in from a Riquelme free-kick. Among the 55,000 crowd last night was Guto Ferreira who was watching the game for Inter.Boca will now travel to Porto Alegre ahead of Wednesday’s Copa Sudamericana quarter final clash with Inter.
30ª Rodada Round up
With four big local derbies being played and a shock result involving the league leaders the 30ª Rodada could well prove to be a key round in the 2008 Brasileirão.
The Estádio do Canindé witnessed one of the competitions biggest upsets so far when relegation Portuguesa defeated leaders Grêmio 2-0 with two second half goals. Cruzeiro meanwhile move up into second place and are now just a point off Grêmio following a 2-0 over neighbours Atlético-MG in the Belo Horizonte derby. Just goal difference now separates Cruzeiro from third placed Palmeiras who snatched a 2-2 draw at home to São Paulo in the ‘Choque-Rei’ clássico. In an incident packed match at the Palestra Itália, São Paulo goalkeeper Rogério Ceni scored his fourth goal of the competition from the penalty spot to open the scoring before both sides were harshly reduced to ten men following a minor incident. Striker Dagoberto doubled São Paulo’s advantage just before half time before late strikes from Kleber and Leandro levelled for Palmeiras who also had Junior sent off on 90 mins.
In Rio, Flamengo won the ‘Clássico dos Milhões’ with a 1-0 victory of rivals Vasco. An own goal from Vasco’s Luiz was enough to secure Flamengo the victory despite having Luciano sent off midway through the second half. Flamengo are now 5th but just three points from Grêmio are the Campeonato Brasilero braces itself for one of its tightest finishes in years. Vasco meanwhile are now rooted to the bottom of the table as one of Brazilian football’s most established clubs stares relegation to Série B in the face. Joining Vasco in the relegation zone are fellow Rio giants Fluminense who could only manage a 2-2 draw with Vitória in Salvador. Elsewhere, a 1-1 draw was not the result either side would of wanted as Coritiba and Goiás met at the Couto Pereira. A point does little to improve either sides chances of Libertadores qualification. Finally in Pernambuco, Sport and Nautico contested Recifes’ ‘Clássico dos Clássicos’ which finished in a 2-2 draw in a match which saw both teams finishing the game with ten men.

Boca face Super Clássico ahead of Inter
Boca face a stern test in what will hopefully be a difficult club for the Buenos Aires based club. Ahead of Wednesday’s visit to the Beira-Rio, Boca Juniors face rivals River Plate later today at River’s Estádio Monumental.Boca are currently sixth place in the Argentine Apertura Championship with 14 points after 9 matches.
Injury latest ahead of Boca
Tite received mixed news today as he prepares the Inter squad Wednesday night’s Copa Sudamericana clash with Boca Juniors. The club’s medical department have confirmed that midfielder Guiñazu will not recover from his arm injury although he is expected to be available for the second leg in two weeks time.“We decided on Wednesday that the players will not participate in the game. He will do rehabilitation work and we will assess how he feels. Next week, he must participate in the match against Náutico but we await developments in the player’s recovery”, confirmed club doctor Paulo Rabello.
Meanwhile Tite was handed more positive news regarding another of his midfield players as Magrão confirmed his availability after training this morning at the Beira-Rio. The midfielder had been ruled out of last night’s match with Atlético Paranaense with a stomach problem and after being hit in his testicles! “I was kicked and it was just a little sore. Then I had a problem with my stomach. I spent two or three days feeling bad. Yesterday I returned to my food and could train today. We will see tomorrow but hopefully I will be available to Tite. I am confident, because it is an important game and everyone wants to help”, explained Magrão.Magrão also spoke of his belief that Inter can defeat the Argentine giants. He explained, “I think it’s a difficult game as
was the Gre-Nal. These are decisive games here in Beira-Rio. Working together by supporting each other all the time, only then we can win”.Tite was also given positive news by Índio who trained this morning after missing last night’s game after a knee injury. “I felt a little bit of pain. The area is still a little swollen but I’m sure that I will be available”, said the central defender.

30ª Rodada latest
Inter temporarily move up into seventh spot following last night’s 2-1 win and are now six points off fourth placed São Paulo who have a game in hand. The defeat for Atlético Paranaense takes them a step closer to Série B. Inter must now at least win seven and draw one of their remaining eight Brasileirão games to ensure Libertadores qualification.
In Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Bolivian striker Pablo Escobar’s 90th minute equaliser rescued a late point for Ipatinga who drew 1-1 away to Figueirense whilst 20,000 attended the Engenhão for Garrincha’s 75th anniversary. Even the Botafogo legend would of been impressed with Molina’s sensational goal which gave Santos the points in a 1-0 victory.

Alex super strike keeps Libertadores hopes alive
Inter kept their slim Libertadores hopes alive last night with a win over 2-1 struggling Atlético Paranaense as the Colorado being preparations for Wednesday evening’s visit to Boca Juniors.
With several changes being made to the side which drew at Goiás last weekend, Lauro continued in goal as Ângelo, Danny Morais and Gustavo Nery all returned in defence. In midfield, Ramon continued on the left as Andrezinho and Edinho played in the centre. D’Alessandro returned from suspension to play wide right and Alex partnered Nilmar up front after representing the Seleção midweek.
Atlético started the match the more adventurous of the two sides but failed to threaten the Inter defence with long range efforts. Inter’s first chance came on twenty four minutes. D’Alessandro threaded a ball through to Nilmar who used his pace to break from his marker but saw his effort saved by Atlético’s Galatto. Fourteen minutes later though, Inter broke the deadlock. Alex played the ball through to Nilmar (38) who’s pace again got him free from the Atlético defence as he poked the ball past Galatto to give Inter the lead.
It was Nilmar again, who had Inter’s first chance of the second half. Having found himself isolated on the edge of the box he ran at the Atlético full back only to see his shot bend away from goal and go wide from 18 yards out. Inter’s number nine was again involved in their next attacking move just minutes later as he cut the ball across the box to Andrezinho who twisted and shot just wide past the post to the relief of the Atlético Paranaense defence. Inter continued to search for the second goal as Alex saw his effort from outside the box saved but the Colorado were given a boost when Atlético were reduced to ten men when defender Ze Antonio was given a straight red card after needlessly pulling down Edinho. The sending off was to prove costly when two minutes later Alex doubled Inter’s lead with an outrageous strike. Receiving the ball just inside the Ateltico half, Alex (74) ran with the ball unchallenged into the box before unleashing a trademark powerful left footed strike which flew into the top of the net as the Beira-Rio celebrated the return of the number ten who’d just returned from representing Brazil.
Four minutes later however, Inter’s defensive concerns which have hindered the club all year, once again became apparent. Ângelo cheaply lost possession inside the Inter box, allowing the Colombian Ferreira (78) to finish past Lauro. As Atlético opened up looking for the equalizer, Inter again threatened as they counter attacked. After an horrific ball by Atlético, Nilmar picked up the ball and ran at the Atlético defence, passing to substitute Daniel Carvalho whose shot forced Galatto to tip the ball over the bar. Two minutes later Daniel Carvalho threatened again with a free kick which went over from twenty five yards out. Ângelo then came close to scoring his first Inter goal as he saw his free kick come back off the post.

Elsewhere, Fluminense will look to continue their fight against the drop when the visit mid table Vitória. Another relegation threatened side, Portuguesa face league leaders Grêmio whilst Náutico who are also short of points visit Sport. Meanwhile both Coritiba and Goiás can keep their slim hopes of Libertadores qualification alive when they meet in Paraná.

Inter v Atlético-PR
With time fast running out, it is well and truly make or break time for Inter if they are to qualify for the Copa Libertadores. A defeat against relegation threatened Atlético-PR (18:20 local time) would make qualification mathematically impossible with Inter keeping one eye on next Wednesday’s huge game with Boca Juniors. After being forced into making several changes to the side who drew 1-1 at Goiás last weekend, Tite is able to call upon Gustavo Nery, D’Alessandro and Alex who all become available and is set to continue with Lauro in goal following his Inter debut last weekend. Tite will however be without suspended defensive pair Ricardo Lopes and Índio and central midfielder Magrão whilst Guiñazu remains absent through injury. Andrezinho will coninute to fight to earn a new contract as he starts, whilst Ramon is also likely to continue his run in the side as is expected to start in left midfield.
Inter’s opponents Atlético-PR also find themselves needing points as the Campeonato Brasileiro draws to close. Currently 18th, Atlético find themselves two points off Fluminense who sit safely in 16th place with just one Brasileirão win from their last five matches (LWLDL). Coach Geninho will know his side’s lack of goals (28, the lowest scoring in the league) could prove fatal to Atlético’s hopes of avoiding Série B as they visit the Beira-Rio in a match which Inter are fully expected to win.
Probable Line Up: Lauro, Ângelo, Bolívar, Danny Morais, Gustavo Nery, Edinho, Andrezinho, Ramon, D’Alessandro, Alex, Nilmar

Andrezinho keen to impress
Inter midfielder Andrezinho is hoping to make the most of his opportunity in the Inter team by impressing the club during his extended run in the side. With his long term future undecided, Andrezinho has replaced injured midfielder Pablo Guiñazu and has already been confirmed by Tite that he will start tomorrow against Atlético-PR.Speaking earlier today to Radio Bandeirantes Andrezinho explained, “Only a victory will do and the squad are aware of that because we want to reach the Libertadores. I am relaxed and I am happy for the opportunity that the clubs have given me. My intention is to stay here although I am anxious to renew (my contract).”
At this morning’s press conference, Tite gave his reasons for Andrezinho’s extended run in the side. “Andres has already played on the right side. We have a line of four midfielders with wingers on the left and right who can also defend. We also did this in the game against São Paulo were we came from behind to win."

Inter UK to take short break
I am going away for a couple of days so unfortunately there will be no updates until I return at the end of the week. I will provide an update on Friday and will bring you all the latest news and build up ahead of the Atlético-PR match.
In their remaining nine games, Inter must win eight and draw one to ensure a fourth placed finish. A defeat would make it mathematically impossible to finish in the top four and would mean Inter must then win the Copa Sudamericana to qualify for the Copa Libertadores.
In my absence, please feel free to post any news or updates in the comments section.

Nilmar and Andrezinho prepare for vital 9 days
With Inter needing 25 points from 27 remaining points, Inter’s player’s try to remain fully focused as the club prepares for a vital 9 days.Speaking to Radio Bandeirantes, Nilmar couldn’t help but look ahead to Inter’s vital Sudamericana clash next week with Boca Juniors. “It’s inevitable we’re thinking about the game. Our work is focused on the Brasileirão, but we will all be thinking about the game against Boca because it’s a match we all want to compete in. We also need to focus on the game with Atlético-PR, which is very important. You cannot make a priority” explained Nilmar.
Meanwhile, Andrezinho who scored his first Inter goal on the weekend against Goiás has urged his team mates to remain focused on the immediate task ahead that is Atlético-PR as Inter hang on to their slim hopes of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores through the Brasileirão.
“I am happy to have scored the goal and if Tite needs me again I’ll be available. The focus is now on the game Saturday against Atlético-PR. We’ll only think about Boca Juniors next week”, added the midfielder.
Inter to decide Ângelo future
The long term future of right back Ângelo at the club remains undecided as Inter must decide whether to exercise their option to buy the player which expires this month. Paraná based club ADAP Galo currently own Ângelo ’s registration and he will remain on loan at Inter until the end of year.
Ângelo was originally hired after impressing against Inter when playing for his former club Paraná in a Copa do Brasil fixture. Since joining Inter, Ângelo has failed to break into the side and has made just five appearances with Ricardo Lopes regularly being selected as Tite’s first choice right back.

Alex makes Brazil debut
After being named as a substitute, Inter midfielder Alex proudly made his debut for the Brazilian team as he replaced Kaká after 70 minutes.Wearing the number 16 shirt, Alex came on with Brazil in complete control of the game, leading Venezuela 4-0 and showed a nice range of passing as the Seleção strolled through to the full time whistle.
After the game Alex's delight was clear. "It is a moment that gave me great satisfaction. The staff helped a lot. I am satisified with this first game. The work is being doen well", he commented.
Brazil produced one of their best performances in recent times completely outclassing the Venezuelan's and were 3-0 up within 19 minutes following goals from Kaká, Robinho and Adriano. Robinho then added another goal midway through the second half.
Alex will be looking to add to his first appearance when Brazil play Colombia on Wednesday night.
Tite forced to shuffle squad again for Atlético-PR
Tite will once have to make changes to his side for next weekends match with Atlético-PR as suspensions force changes.Right back Ricardo Lopes who recieved two yellow cards and centre back Índio who was also booked are both suspended for 30ª rodada leaving Inter short of cover in defense. With Uruguayan centre back Gonazolo Sorondo also a long term absentee through injury, Angelo and Danny Morais would be the most likely replacements.
On a positive note, three key players are set to return. Alex should be available following international duty with the Brazil squad and both Gustavo Nery and D'Alessandro are available again following suspension.
With nine games remaining in the Brasileirão, Inter must win at least seven of their final games to have mathematically have a chance of finishing in the top four.

Inter remain hopeful despite latest setback
With Inter needing something of a minor miracle to obtain a top four placing in the Brasileirão, the squad remain defiant and positive as the Colorado approach the last nine games of the season.“Our goal is still to reach the Libertadores. There are nine rounds ahead, all are major games. We have a great squad and we’ll continue to work because nothing is finalised,” stated defender Bolívar.
With a nine point game between Inter and fourth placed São Paulo, Inter’s only realistic hope of qualifying for the Libertadores would be by defeating Boca Juniors and winning the Copa Sudamericana. The Colorado’s top scorer Nilmar remains upbeat despite Inter’s one all draw with Goiás last night. “The top four are getting away. No doubt that the victory would have been better for both teams, but now we have two games at home to climb again”, the striker commented.
Inter’s faltering Brasileirão campaign continues next weekend as relegation threatened Atlético-PR visit Porto Alegre.

Andrezinho strike earns draw against Goiás
Any hopes of earning a Libertadores place are surely now a distant dream as Tite’s patched up Inter side took a well earned point against Goiás.
With first team regular’s Clemer, Guiñazu, D’Alessandro and Alex all absent, Tite handed goalkeeper Lauro his debut and gave opportunities to Ramon, Daniel Carvalho and Andrezinho. After starting brightly, it was in fact Andrezinho (7) who gave Inter an early lead, scoring his first goal of the season finishing past Goiás ‘keeper Harlei following good work from Nilmar who’s explosive pace had been a constant threat to the Goiás defence. Goiás exerted pressure on Inter and levelled shortly before half time. Fahel (35) managed to out jump his marker on a routine corner to head past debutant Lauro to level for Goiás. Minutes after equalising, the home side were given the opportunity to go in front after being awarded a penalty. Ex-Inter forward Iarley stepped up but to the delight of his former club he struck the ball high over the bar.
In the second half, Inter remained on the back foot as Goiás searched for a second goal but were unable to score. Deep into added time, Ricardo Lopes was issued his second yellow card of the evening and sent off following a late challenge on Goiás’ Lusmar.

29ª Rodada latest
The remaining four fixtures from the 29th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro commence later today. An away win for Inter against Goiás this evening would see the Colorado move up to seventh spot, reducing the gap from fourth placed São Paulo to seven points. In Curitiba, a victory for either Atlético-PR or Fluminense could prove to be highly significant in either club’s battle against relegation when the two meet at the Arena da Baixada. In São Paulo state, another candidate for the drop to Série B are Portuguesa, a win against seventh placed Coritiba this evening could go a long way to ensuring their safety. Meanwhile, 70,000 are expected to pack into the Maracanã tonight as Flamengo continue their fight for a place in the top four as they take on Atlético-MG.

Goiás v Inter
Tite takes a depleted Inter squad to the central Brazilian city of Goiána knowing a defeat against Goiás later today (18:20 local time) could signal the end of Inter’s ambitions of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores through the Brasileirão.Tite has already confirmed that Clemer will be made a high profile sacrifice following a poor defensive performance at Coritiba last weekend, whilst Inter will be without Alex who is on international duty along with Gustavo Nery (suspension), D’Alessandro (suspension) and Pablo Guiñazu (wrist injury).
Daniel Carvalho is expected to make a rare start replacing Alex as Nilmar’s striker partner whilst question marks remain over untested goalkeeper Lauro as the former Cruzeiro reserve makes his Inter debut. Replacing the Argentine’s, left sided wingback/midfielder Ramon is given a chance to impress whilst Taison or more likely, Andrezinho will replace the playmaker D’Alessandro. In defence, experienced left back is expected to slot in for the missing Gustavo Nery whilst Edinho returns to the midfield after completing his suspension.
Inter’s untried line up could be in for a difficult night at the Serra Dourada with Goiás in fine form. Hélio dos Anjos’s side are undefeated in their last six games (WWWWWD), taking 16 points from a possible 18 in the process. Iarley who was sold to the club from Inter earlier this season is also in fine form netting 11 goals for his his new club whilst Paulo Baier is also a threat from midfield.
Probable Line Up: Lauro, Ricardo Lopes, Índio, Bolívar, Marcão, Edinho, Magrão, Ramon, Andrezinho, Daniel Carvalho, Nilmar.
Tite to decide between Andrezinho or Taison as patched-up Inter arrive in Goiás
Inter yesterday arrived Goiána and were greeted by around 20 fans at the Santa Genoveva airport. As preparations for Saturday’s game continue tomorrow, Tite is forced to make changes to his side with Guiñazu, D’Alessandro and Alex all unavailable and Clemer dropped from the team.Daniel Carvalho is certain to start alongside Nilmar up front for Inter and Ramon is expected to be given a rare start on the left side of midfield. Having made just eleven appearances for the Colorado this year, he is somewhat of a suprise choice to replace the injured Pablo Guiñazu. Tite’s next decision will be whether to play Andrezinho or Taison instead of D’Alessandro. With the Argentine suspended, Tite can opt for the ball retention qualities of Andrezinho or the raw pace of young Taison.
With goalkeeper Lauro also making his debut, Inter’s side could be very unpredictable in what will be a difficult game at the Serra Dourada at a key stage of the season.

Finally, Botafogo kept their Libertadores hopes by defeating Vitória 3-1 in Rio.

Former Manchester United and Dutch star scouts at Beira-Rio
Japp Stam the former Holland, PSV, Manchester United, Milan and Roma defender was spotted at the Beira-Rio yesterday afternoon as he watched Inter’s júnior side in their Copa FGF / Lupi Martins match against Cerâmica, de Gravataí.Stam who has retired from the game is currently scouting for Manchester United and revealed, “I like the game, I am doing a study of Brazilian football”.
Manchester United already have a number of young Brazilian players at the club including former Inter youth product Rodrigo Possebon and ex-Gremista, Anderson.
Alex reveals shock at Seleção call up
Last Tuesday afternoon will always be remembered by Alex as an important date in his life. It was day he received the news that he had been called up for the Brazil national side for the first time.Speaking to CBF News, the midfielder revealed his shock at the call up, “I did not expect it because the selection had already been announced so after a few days later I didn’t think about it. I was very happy and shared the joy with my wife and son.”
Alex has come a long way since finding his way in professional football. As an established player at Inter he has won a wealth of titles including the Copa Libertadores, World Club Cup and the Recopa. He realises however that his life could have been quite different, having grown up in a rural area in the state of Paraná. “If not for football, maybe I would be working in agriculture which was our activity there at the ranch in Santa Amelia”, he reflected. But even at just four years old his father Andrew predicted a bright future for his son who would play with a ball alone on the farm. “My farther was watching me play, and said, “One day you will play for Brazil.”. “When I found out the news I called him, “Dad, did you see? You were right! I was summoned to the Seleção!”
Since meeting up with the Brazil squad Alex explained that he has no difficulties in settling in. “I wondered what the environment would be like and how I would be received because here are the best players in the world, but things were easier than I thought. There were all very easy and put me at ease.”
Good luck Alex!!

Agent denies Walter ‘gato’ stories
Following Tite’s refusal to comment on young striker Walter’s absence in the Inter team, Radio Gaucho yesterday speculated that the player could be the latest name caught up in a scandal affecting many young players in Brazil, known as ‘gato’ (cat).
The term ‘gato’ is used to describe players who use fake documents to falsify their records to make them appear younger than they actually are. There have been many cases of ‘gato’s’ in Brazilian football where talented young players are found out to be several years older than claimed.
Following the claim’s, businessman Humberto Rimoli who represents Walter quickly ruled out any such fear. “One thing is absolutely certain. There is no possibility of tampering with Walter’s date of birth. He is not a ‘gato’. They can search what you want”, explained Rimoli yesterday afternoon. “I do not know why he is not being used but you must respect the position of Internacional, it is strictly a matter for the club”, he added.

With Brazil playing in Venezuela on Sunday night in their latest World Cup Qualifier, the Campeonato Brasileiro is once again being played across three nights.

Tomorrow night, both Cruzeiro and São Paulo who both have 49 points will be looking to further establish themselves in the top four when they take on Náutico and Ipatinga respectively. Botafogo meanwhile play Vitória in Rio with both sides fighting to keep their Copa Libertadores hopes alive.

Tite confirms Lauro will replace Clemer
Clemer the most successful goalkeeper in the history of the club has been dropped following Inter’s unimpressive 4-2 defeat to Coritiba in Paraná.Lauro who joined the club from Cruzeiro earlier this year is set to make his first appearance for Inter against Goiás on Saturday. Clemer who is forty later this month, has won nine titles with the Colorado had been criticised in the media after making several errors in recent months with the most recent being the mix up with Índio which led to Coritiba’s first goal.
“I have a lot of professional respect for Clemer and his conduct. I spoke to the player before I speak to the press and confirmed that Lauro will start. He is a great goalkeeper and will get a chance to play”, confirmed Tite.Meanwhile Clemer remained professional about the news. “The coach has made his choice and I have to comply. Someone had to pay the bil right? I am calm and I have to support Lauro. The most important thing is the club”, he declared.
Clemer who joined Inter in 2002 has won a wealth of titles with the club including the Libertadores, World Club Cup, the Recopa, the Dubai Cup and five state championships. Clemer has lost his place in the side on two previous occasion to former goalkeeper Renan, but with the player out of contract at the end of the year, it remains to be seen if Clemer has a long term future at Internacional.

Tite silent over Water role
The future of talented young striker Water within the Inter squad remains undefined after Tite yesterday refused to comment on the player’s role within the squad reports the globoesporte website. The striker has drawn comparisons to the former Inter icon Claudiomiro but is opportunities within the first team remain limited. Walter who is 19 has made five appearances for Inter.
Earlier this year Inter released Iarley, one of the club’s most popular players in recent times to this weekends opponents Goiás where he has been a great
success. Another striker Gil, also left the club earlier this summer when he joined Botafogo on loan. The strategy in allowing the players to leave, according to the board, was to make space in the senior squad for young talent from the ‘categorias de base’ and in particular, Walter. However, when asked about the young player, Tite refused to comment without explanation. “I do not want to talk about this subject. I ask that you respect this. You guys (journalists) known me a long time. Respect that. I do not want to talk about the matter of Walter” he told the press.Tite’s apprehension to discuss Walter has now led to speculation that Walter’s lack of opportunities are not a technical matter but behavioural although the club would be quick to point out that the team has many quality forward players such as Nilmar, Alex and Daniel Carvalho which impair Walter’s first team chances.

Edinho remains positive on Libertadores chances
Mathematicians are predicting Inter need to win at least seven of their remaining ten games to have any chance of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores through a top four finish in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Despite Inter’s poor campaign so far, Edinho remains positive on Inter’s chances. “While we still have the chance, we will fight. We only depend on ourselves. If we can string together a run of wins, we can grow”, the defensive midfielder explained in an interview to Radio Bandeirantes.
Inter currently occupy 10th place in the Brasileirão with 42 points, seven points behind fourth placed Flamengo.

Daniel Carvalho set for Goiás as selection problems mount
After complaining about his role in the squad following Inter’s 4-2 defeat to Coritiba on Saturday, Daniel Carvalho could handed a start alongside Nilmar for this weekends visit to Goiás.Inter who were already without Guiñazu and suspended duo, Gustavo Nery and D’Alessandro for Saturday’s match at the Serra Dourada, were dealt a further blow yesterday when it was announced that Alex would also be unavailable following his call up to the Brazil squad for their games against Venezuela and Colombia.
After having Monday off, preparations for the weekend begin in training today where Tite is likely to give an indication of his team for Goiás.

Inter to take FIFA action over Fernandão transfer
Inter are thought to have appealed to FIFA following the sale of Fernandão to Qatar based side Al-Gharafa.
Fernandão joined Al-Gharafa on 14th June for €3.5 million (US£10.2 million). However Inter have not yet received the third instalment of money despite assurances from officials at Al-Gharafa. In such circumstances club’s are able to call on FIFA to intervene but whilst this would ensure the transfer money is received, Inter would need to legal fees.
Fellow Brasileirão club Vitória had a similar problem last year, after selling Ramon Menezes to Al-Gharafa they had to wait 18 months to receive their payment.
Fernandão meanwhile played with a fractured nose last weekend as his new side won 2-0.

Unfortunately for Inter, the number ten will now be unavailable for Sunday’s Brasileirão match against Goiás.
Alex has made 20 appearances in the Campeonato Brasileiro this year for the Colorado, scoring eight goals.

Coritiba’s Ricardinho defends Clemer / New poll
Please vote in the new poll "Should Clemer be replaced?"
Coritiba full back Ricardinho has defended Inter’s experienced goalkeeper Clemer following Saturday’s victory over the Colorado. Clemer and defender Índio were involved in an incredible mix up which gifted Coritiba their first goal in Saturday’s 4-2 defeat. Following the incident, some sections of the media have criticised Clemer.
Ricardinho who crossed the ball which led to the incident however felt the wet conditions were to blame. “On a pitch with this much rain, this type of things happens. I do not have any doubts that Clemer is a good goalkeeper and what happened was an accident”, declared the Coritiba fullback.
Clemer who is 39, was involved in a similar incident earlier this season during Inter’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat against Vasco in Rio last August and now some sections of the media are suggesting that his age and lack of goalkeeping options at the club are to blame. Zero Hora today takes a look at Clemer’s future and Inter’s goalkeeping situation-
Clemer had spent part of Inter’s season as back up for first choice, Renan. Renan however missed much of the Brasileirão campaign through a combination of illness and suspension and was then called up for Brazilian Olympic Squad before joining Spanish club Valencia. In Renan’s absence, Clemer once again found himself first choice with lnter having no alternatives to challenge for the number one shirt.
Currently Inter have three other goalkeepers at the club but none are thought to be at a high enough standard. 28 year old Lauro joined the club in August from Cruzeiro and is considered to be the second choice goalkeeper. The club also have Ricardo, who also signed during the transfer window. The 24 year old joined from Caxias after failing to impress on loan at Vasco and the club’s final option is youth product Agenor.
With Clemer’s contract due to expire in December, it was thought that he would automatically be awarded a new one year deal. After winning the Campeonato Gaúcho earlier this year, the club spoke openly about keeping Clemer for the club’s centenary year but talk of a new deal appears to of quietened. Maybe Clemer’s time as Inter’s first choice, is just beginning to come to an end.
What do you think of Inter’s goalkeeping situation? Is Clemer to blame?

Alex bemoans defensive mistakes
Attacking midfielder Alex spoke to Radio Gaucho after Saturday’s Brasileirão defeat to Coritiba and was frustrated with the errors which stifled his side’s performance. “We should of learned from this errors because they have already happened in the start of the championship”, declared Alex.
Despite the defeat however, Alex still believes that Inter can still qualify for the Copa Libertadores and take the club into the continental competition in 2009, Inter’s centenary year.
“We cannot allow anymore errors at this stage. Next we have the game with Goiás, it is difficult to play in Goiánia. It is difficult to get the victory, but we have to enter the game thinking it is possible”, added Inter’s number ten.

Poor defending dents Inter's Libertadores hopes
Inter’s impressive unbeaten run came to an end last night at the Estádio Couto Pereira as a poor defensive performance ensured a 4-2 defeat as the club’s hopes of achieving a Copa Libertadores place were dealt a massive blow. Concerningly, after the game Daniel Carvalho expressed his disappointment at being used sparingly by Tite leading to suggestions of continued disharmony within the Inter squad.
Tite who was without midfielders Guiñazu and Edinho for the trip to Paraná, selected Taison and gave Sandro his first senior appearance for Inter as the coach named a similar looking line up to the team which had won its last four Brasileiro matches.
On a very wet pitch in Curitiba, Inter were handed a dream start when Ricardo Lopes’ deep cross was turned in by Coritiba defender, Mauricio (9) to put Inter in front. Inter however were unable to hold on to their lead for long when six minutes later, Clemer spilled a routine cross which appeared to look safe only for Índio (15) to somehow slide in and score the second own goal of the game and sent the Coritiba fans celebrating in the rain. With neither team unable to create much in the difficult conditions, both teams could only find themselves threatening from long range efforts which were comfortably saved by both goalkeepers, Clemer and Vanderlei as the first half drew to a close.
The second half began in similar conditions although it was not long before the home side would take the lead. Coritiba striker Keirrison (52) pulled away from his marker Índio and finished past Clemer. With Inter unable to respond, Coritiba then added a third goal midway in the second half, following soft defending by Inter which allowed Mauricio (64) to score this time at the correct end past a hapless Clemer. With Inter’s defence appearing to be in complete disarray it was only minutes until Coritiba would score again. Keirrison found himself completely unmarked by Ricardo Lopes following a cross into the Inter box and saw his header saved by Clemer from just yards out. Unmarked, Keirrison (68) slotted in rebound, his 16th goal of the current campaign. Inter’s own top goal scorer Nilmar (70) reduced the lead within minutes as the striker headed in a rebound from close range after a Coritiba defender headed against his own post following a corner. Despite reducing Coritiba’s lead to two goals, the Colorado were unable to get back into the game in a performance which was undermined by poor defending.
Inter’s chances of a top four Brasileirão finish now look bleak and Inter’s frustrations with the result were evident with D’Alessandro complaining about being substituted and Daniel Carvalho questioning his role in the squad immediately after the game.

Boca Juniors details confirmed
South American football’s governing body, Conmebol have confirmed the dates for the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals.Inter will face Boca Juniors with the first leg being held at the Beira-Rio on Wednesday 22nd October with the return leg being played two weeks later at the Bombonera on Wednesday 5th November.
The full quarter-final draw:
Internacional (BRA) v Boca Juniors (ARG)
River Plate (ARG) v Chivas (MEX)
Estudiantes (ARG) v Botafogo (BRA)
Palmeiras (BRA) v Argentinos Juniors (ARG)
Picture: Inter travel to Boca's famous La Bombonera for their second leg tie on 5th Nov.
Coritiba v Inter
In form Internacional travel to Paraná for tonight’s match with ninth placed Coritiba (18:20 local time). Inter’s coach Tite seems to have finally found a settled line up and is beginning to get the best from his underachieving squad as the Colorado showing signs of threatening to challenge to a sought after top four spot in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The Colorado go into October having remained undefeated throughout September, winning every game in the Brasileirão. However, their visit to the Estádio Couto Pereira could prove to be their biggest test yet with Dorival Júnior’s Coritiba side having lost just two home games all season. Despite their strong home record Coritiba’s recent form has been mixed having won just once in their last five matches (DLLWD).
Much of the talk ahead of the game has been just how much will Inter miss influential midfielder Pablo Guiñazu who missed out through injury? Andrezinho is expected to come into the side to replace the Argentine although he too suffered a minor injury whilst training this week and has not yet been confirmed as fit to play. If Andrezinho is not declared fit, fellow midfielder Rosinei is likely to start. The biggest surprise in Tite’s starting eleven however, could be the appearance of young defensive midfielder Sandro who has been called up to the senior team from the youth side. Sandro is highly rated by those at the club and is clearly held in high regard by Tite who is rumoured to select him at such an important stage of the season.
After making changes to the side for Wednesday’s draw with Universidad Catolica, Tite is likely to field a very similar team which has now consecutively defeated Portuguesa, Botafogo, Vitória and of course, Grêmio. Inter’s main attacking thread is again expected to come from the talented trio of D’Alessandro, Alex and Nilmar. Whilst Inter will need to be aware of Coritiba’s top scorer Keirrison who has netted fourteen times so far in the Brasileirão.
Probable Line Up: Clemer, Ricardo Lopes, Índio, Bolívar, Gustavo Nery, Sandro, Magrão, Andrezinho, D’Alessandro, Alex, Nilmar

Sandro to replace Edinho against Coritiba/Sandro é o substituto de Edinho contra o Coritiba
Tite is set to spring a surprise in his team selection for tomorrow’s match against Coritiba by naming highly rated youth player, Sandro in Inter’s starting line up reports Zero Hora. With defensive midfielder Edinho suspended following his red in last week’s Gre-Nal, Danny Morais had been expected to be named as his replacement it is speculated that hotly tipped Sandro will now make his first senior appearance for the club.
Tite speaking earlier today dropped his biggest hint that Sandro would be a part of the side. “Sandro is a man specific for that function. Nobody is like Edinho, but Sandro is the closest we can get. Danny has already played in this function, but he has less mobility. I'm going to think about and choose after. The main idea is to change the formation as less as possible and thus, give the opportunity for those who are replacing players well," revealed Tite.
Bolívar warns of Keirrison
Inter defender Bolívar has warned his side of Coritiba’s striker, Keirrison ahead of Saturday’s game. The striker is Coritiba’s top scorer this year with 14 goals from 20 games for the Paraná based club and is the fourth top scorer in the Brasileirão.
“The Coritiba players have a lot of quality. Keirrison will need to be given special care. We have to respect their team but we must keep our style and continue to climb the table”, declared Bolívar.

Tite given midfield selection headache ahead of Coritiba
Tite will be forced to make changes ahead of tomorrow’s match with Coritiba as the Colorado once again turn their attentions to the Campeonato Brasileiro. As Inter travel to the state of Paraná later today for the game, the biggest concern will undoubtedly be the absence of Guiñazu. The popular Argentine midfielder injured his elbow after coming on a substitute against Universidad Católica on Wednesday. Initial medical reports suggest that Guiñazu could be ruled out for around three weeks.
Training this week suggested that Andrezinho would be the most likely option to Guiñazu in midfield but he too is now a doubt following an ankle injury in training. Meanwhile left sided squad player, Ramon has spoken out giving Tite a timely reminder about his desire for a place in the side. “I am determined and this can help with defensively. When Abel Braga was here I played in Guiñazu’s position in the Dubai Cup,” commented Ramon.
As well as Andrezinho and Ramon, Tite can also chose from Rosinei or Taison to come into the midfield.
Guiñazu will also be joined on the absentee list by defensive midfielder Edinho who is suspended following his first half dismissal against Grêmio last weekend. Central defender/midfielder Danny Morais is the most likely option to replace Edinho although highly rated defensive midfielder Sandro (remember the name), could make his first senior appearance for Inter after training with the squad this week.

Inter secure quarter final spot
In an early kick off in Porto Alegre, the Colorado have secured a quarter final place in the Copa Sudamericana following an uneventful 0-0 draw with Universidad Católica. Inter who also drew the first leg 1-1 go through to the last eight of the competition on away goals.
Tite made several changes to the side as expected following Sundays clássico with only Clemer, Bolívar and Edinho remaining in the side. Pablo Guiñazu who came on in the second half as a substitute for Andrezinho, needed to be taken off himself following what appeared to be a wrist injury.
The result now means that Inter are likely to face Boca Juniors in the next round. Boca already have a four goal lead from their first leg tie in Buenos Aires last week and are about to kick off their second against match against LDU Quito in Ecuador.
Internacional have now extended their undefeated run to six games but face a difficult trip to Parana on Saturday where they face Coritiba as their Brasileirão campaign continues.
